Since
its inception in May 2002, FOLS has been working to fill the needs of Lakeland
School. Below are just a few of the things we have been able to provide.
With your help, this list will grow to new heights.

students use cordless drills and saws to create two decorative deer for the
garden (R). On the left, this student is working with the new
disk/belt sander. |

FOLS has helped improve and expand the curriculum in the Technology
Education classes. Tools and supplies needed to have an adaptive and
productive shop room are very costly. The pieces of equipment that you
have purchased for us have and will be put to good use for many years to
come.
Thank you.

Pictured
here are student utilizing equipment purchased by FOLS for the physical
therapy/occupational therapy dept. Students learn balance, increase
strength and improve coordination with these wonderful pieces of equipment.
Many students also use it to release pent up energy. This serves as a
calming activity. |

player/projector/speaker system purchased by FOLS. This system has a
multitude of uses and serves as a perfect adaptive system for the classroom. |

"When the cart with this equipment is rolled into the
classroom, the student's faces light up! They love the big screen
picture and enjoy the computer software that has been installed on the
system. Thank you so much for your generosity!"

It's
amazing what can happen when you give a child a microphone. Both
speech therapy and music therapy utilize this system. |
|
"The students
love the karaoke machine and cd's purchased by FOLS. Here are two
early childhood students singing Christmas songs during their Christmas
party. It also gets a lot of use during camp week. I am amazed
how many students LOVE to perform in front of an audience.

Friends of Lakeland
School is please to accept the donation of $9,543 raised at the 7th
annual Harley Fest Block Party sponsored by the Elkhorn Saloon. Many thanks
go out to Justin & Jodi Ehrhardt for their efforts in organizing this
successful event.
Elkhorn Saloon’s
Annual Block Party
The 7th
annual Harley Fest Block Party again brought a large number of bikes and
locals out this year to raise money for Lakeland School. Even though rain
held up the start and completely shut the party down two hours early, the
benefit still managed to bring in just under $10,000 ($9,543 to be exact).
Justin & Jodi Ehrhardt, organizers of the event. “The venue seems to get
more difficult every year, especially the weather aspect. However, thanks
to all the volunteer and supporters we always seem to come through in the
end.” We really want to acknowledge how much time, money, and effort
everyone has contributed especially those who do it every year without
getting recognition. We would like to give a special thanks to the Elkhorn
Saloon Staff, Chase Bank, The Reddroom, Four Seasons Flooring, Showcase
Decorating, D&E Auto, MJB Services, HDL Moving, Nommensen Law Office, Mann
Brothers, Miller Brewing, Renegade Classics, Abate of Walworth County, Tasch,
Gonzo & Tina Gonzales, Sharon & Rich Aney, Ron& Linda Dunwidde, Jim Hager,
and those who were there with a helping hand. Rich Vieau, this year’s
winner of the Mini Chopper Raffle, donated the bike back, and raised an
additional $1,000. In closing Justin stated “My dad started something
great. Jodi and I kept it going. Yet, most of all we would like to see
Harley Fest as less a Saloon sponsored event, and more of a community
sponsored.”
Could this be the last year???
